The Story of Sam Miller
Sam Miller was born in the Bronx, New York, in 1938. Like many boys of his era, he spent his childhood playing stickball in the streets, watching the Brooklyn Dodgers, and enjoying Sunday car rides with his family.
At the age of fourteen, Sam began experiencing persistent and unexplained health issues-dizziness, queasiness, disorientation, and a constant ringing in his ears. By the summer of 1952, every family car ride would trigger another episode of violent illness, often lasting for days.
During these challenging years, Sam developed a deep curiosity about his condition and a desire to find answers-not just for himself, but for others who might be suffering from the same symptoms.
Sam attended pharmacy school in New York, and upon graduation, he headed west driven by a hunger for a discovery and in the sunshine of California and the belief healing could be reimagined. It was more than a move; it was a mission to find new answers, build something that truly mattered, and pursue a remedy for the inner ear conditions that had shaped his own journey.
Not long after arriving in Los Angeles, California, Sam was hired as lead pharmacist at Imperial Drug Store. Over the years, he achieved his financial goals and, in 1965, purchased his own compounding pharmacy Medical Square Pharmacy.
It was during this time that Sam met Dr. John House Sr. at the world-renowned House Ear Clinic and Research Center in Los Angeles. After becoming Dr. House’s patient, Sam was officially diagnosed with Tinnitus, Vertigo, and Meniere’s Disease.
Recognizing Sam’s expertise as a compound pharmacist, Dr. House invited him to move his pharmacy inside the clinic so they could work more closely together. Encouraged by Dr. House, Sam dedicated himself to developing a formula that could help ease the suffering caused by these debilitating conditions.
Unfortunately, Sam passed in 2016, his legacy lives on in every formula we refine and every promise we make to our customers. Sam believed that wellness should be honest, accessible, and rooted in trust—and we carry that belief forward with pride.
